Publishing your banner
Your banner is published from the start and goes live once your code is on your site. You only press Publish to bring it back after taking it offline.
We recommend
Leave it published.
Each save in the editor publishes. It reaches visitors within about five minutes and becomes a numbered version in History, which every consent record cites.
You don't need to do anything: nothing else needs publishing.
When you'd choose otherwise
- Take it offline only while you fix something. Visitors then see no banner and nothing optional runs: safe, but no consent is collected until you publish again.
- Changing a purpose, or the trackers behind one, asks returning visitors again. Wording, colours and layout never do.
- Billing never touches your banner. It stays live whatever happens to a payment.
